I approach everyone with warmth, curiosity, acceptance, and intelligence

Hi, I’m Ange, a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with substantial experience working with a diverse range of people from young adulthood to older age. I provide both in-office psychotherapy and counselling from my practice in South Yarra and online video-telehealth sessions. I also volunteer weekly at a family violence clinic in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

  • People will tell you I approach everyone with warmth, curiosity, acceptance, and intelligence. I am genuinely interested in others and pride myself on creating an environment where clients can feel comfortable enough to reflect and explore. I also believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to foster healing and change. That’s why I focus on really getting to know my clients, working with them collaboratively throughout the therapeutic process.

I’m also a big believer in self-care. So, when I’m not working, I enjoy swimming, practicing yoga, reading, cooking, spending time in nature, and enjoying the company of others. And to help me always be open to my clients’ experiences without judgement or presumption, I maintain regular supervision, personal therapy, and a daily mindfulness practice.

I hold a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I am an accredited Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) member. I have specific interests in developmental and relational trauma, neuroscience, and the mind-body connection and maintain ongoing professional development. I also have valuable experience navigating complex relationship structures and providing counsel and guidance to people from my first career as a client partner in several creative agencies.

For me, being a psychotherapist is an extremely fascinating and fulfilling career. It allows me to use my accumulated wisdom and experience to help people untangle life’s challenges so they can better understand themselves, change, and grow.

I believe in providing a safe space and a safe relationship where clients feel comfortable

As we get to know each other we’ll collaborate on your goals and agree on the focus of our work. You’ll then find I maintain a confidential, collaborative and supportive practice that’s strengths-based and trauma-informed.

People will tell you I approach everyone with warmth, acceptance, curiosity and intelligence. From the outset, I extend to you the utmost respect and empathy without any judgement or preconception as we discuss the reasons that bring you to therapy.

Taking a client-centred perspective, I will be curious about both conscious and unconscious factors and how they influence your feelings, thoughts and behaviours. And I’ll use my knowledge of neuroscience and the body to heighten your awareness and understanding of what’s happening on the inside, giving you greater choice and control.

I find clients get the most out of sessions by being actively involved – using our time together to self-reflect, deepen awareness, and develop new skills. A lot more work can be done outside of sessions too, where you can reflect on what we’ve examined and try out new experiences.
